The
Queen appoints Blackadder as the new Lord High Executioner - a job in which no-one
survives more than a week. Blackadder starts badly by executing a chap called
Farrow two days early, so as to give him and the rest of the team half the week
off. The problem is that Mrs. Farrow wants to see her husband one last
time, and the Queen inconveniently decides to pardon Farrow altogether ...
Review:A pleasant little farce, allowing us to see the Queen as
the unpredictable creature of mood that she is; Blackadder's fear for his life
is not quite as impressive as his annoyance at her behaviour; but her will must
prevail, so increasingly stupid measures are called for. Mr Ploppy, a career
gaoler, is unimpressed by Percy's management-speak, but is a treasure nonethe
less, while his missus is almost as useless as Baldrick. The scene is set for
a monumental cockup, and, as ever, Edmund is up to his neck in it ... Credits:
