When
Blackadder and Melchett are kidnapped by the evil Prince Ludwig, the Queen is
given an impossible choice. She can only pay the ransom on one of them, but which
one? She decides to spend the money on a big party instead. The boys give
Ludwig some vital information that will enable him to assassinate the Queen. They
escape, and rush home in time to upset his evil plans and save the Queen. But
has he outsmarted them? Review:Blackadder's discussions with
the Spanish-speaking torturer are a joy to follow, and Hugh Laurie absolutely
excels as the Disguise-expert Prince Ludwig. As tales of his previous exploits
are revealed, his insanity becomes almost unbearable ... and makes the finale
horribly believable. Credits:
