As
ever, the Prince is terminally short of cash, so he is persuaded to marry the
fantastically wealthy heiress, Miss Amy Hardwood. Having wooed her heart
for the Prince with a lot of drippy poetry, Blackadder is disgusted to learn that
the Hardwoods have been lying about their fortunes, and in fact have been living
off lard butties for years. The royal wedding is off, but an interesting
side plot enables Blackadder to clean up .. Review:Why is
it that Miranda Richardson can make the most ludicrous characters in Blackadder
seem absolutely real, but cannot play a 'normal' part with any conviction? I think
we should be told! As ever, she shines in this episode, and while I rather lost
the plot, I'm not complaining. Credits:
