What
we do know is that Cook rose through the footlights, with "Beyond The Fringe",
then achieved amazing things with Dudly Moore in "Not Only But Also".
Nothing ever bettered those productive few years - though he equalled them on
occasion. History will also remember Peter Cook as the proprietor and supporter
of Private Eye magazine;
he contributed to that august journal, especially in its early, more scurrilous
years, and gave generously when libel suits threatened to close the whole operation. This
site reveals and reviews some of Cook's Finest Hours, in television and film. |
